solar wallets:




Small USB solar wallets are available for providing direct charge power to phones. They lack a battery though,
so you can only charge your phone (or tablet etc) during the day. There's also the problem of leaving your device
in the sun while charging, though you can usually just set the device under the panels or in the built-in pouch.

SOME of these wallets will have an external tap off the solar panel for attachment to an external controller,
which could be used to (slowly) charge a 12v battery for example. If you plan to use this, make sure the voltage
on the output is high enough to run your charger. Since the main function of these wallets is usually to run a
5v charger, some of them are only wired to produce 6-8v from the panel, which won't run most 12v controllers.

The larger solar wallets are intended to be used for larger scale portable power production, like charging a 12v
battery or other electronic accessories at a camp site. Some of them will only provide raw panel output voltage,
but most include a small built-in solar controller that can be attached to an external 12v battery, and might also
incude a few USB charge ports.

Another common feature you'll see are built-in "kick stands" that fold out from the back and allow you to angle the
panels at 45 degrees to get a little more power from the panels in the morning and afternoon. Most of them are also
fairly waterproof and so are protected from light rain.
